Canelo have acquired a Second World War saga series by Vicki Beeby
Commissioning editor Emily Bedford has acquired World English language rights to a new saga series by Vicki Beeby from Lina Langlee at Kate Nash Literary Agency in a three-book deal.
Vicki Beeby’s trilogy follows three young ladies who sign up to the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force to join in the war effort. From radically different backgrounds, Evie, May and Jess become fast friends in The Ops Room Girls as they fight for their place in a man’s world and explore dazzling new romances.
Emily Bedford says: ‘I was overjoyed when Lina sent over The Ops Room Girls and even more so when I stayed up all night to finish it because I simply couldn’t put it down. The entire Canelo team couldn’t be more passionate about publishing Vicki’s writing and we can’t wait for readers to fall as in love with Evie, May and Jess as we did.’
Vicki Beeby says: ‘It’s a real thrill to be joining such an innovative publisher as Canelo. From the start I’ve been impressed with Emily’s enthusiasm and vision for The Ops Room Girls series, and it’s a delight to have an editor who loves the characters as much as I do. I’m so excited about working with her and the whole team at Canelo to bring The Ops Room Girls into the world.’
Lina Langlee says: ‘It was wonderful to go out on submission with The Ops Room Girls and see such a fabulous response to Vicki's writing. With offers from several publishers, we decided that Canelo's innovative offering and editor Emily Bedford's vision and enthusiasm was the clear winner. We can't wait to introduce these characters to readers!’
The Ops Room Girls will be published in July 2020 in ebook and paperback. For more information please contact email@example.com
