Canelo sets sail on the whale’s acre with a new Viking adventure series from S.J.A. Turney
Commissioning Editor Craig Lye has acquired WEL rights to a new Viking series by S.J.A. Turney from Sallyanne Sweeney at MMB Creative in a three-book deal.
Set late in the Viking age, the Wolves of Odin series follows the adventures of Halfdan, a young Gotlander Viking who, together with an intrepid band of companions, sails across the known world in his ship, the Sea Wolf. In the first book, Blood Feud, Halfdan sets out to avenge the death of his father at the hands of Yngvar, a Christian Viking noble. But the weavings of Fate are far from straightforward, leading Halfdan on a journey from Scandinavia to the Caucasus. Along the way, Halfdan must battle dragons, giants and wraiths before he can have his shot at revenge…
S.J.A. Turney is an author of Roman and medieval historical fiction, gritty historical fantasy and rollicking Roman children's books. He lives with his family and extended menagerie of pets in rural North Yorkshire.
Craig Lye says: ‘It is an absolute pleasure to be working with Si again. Blood Feud is a truly epic novel of adventure and revenge, and I can’t wait to see what readers think of it!’
Simon Turney says: ‘It’s fascinating to get under the skin of a warrior who encounters the great civilizations, of which I usually write, from an outsider’s point of view.’
Sallyanne Sweeney says: ‘SJA Turney is a master of gripping historical fiction. We’re delighted to be continuing his partnership with Canelo and I look forward to seeing this brilliant new series soar to new heights.’
Blood Feud will be published in July 2021 in paperback and ebook. The remaining novels in the trilogy will follow in 2022. For more information please contact email@example.com
