New Book: Three Little Pigs

February 17, 2016

Apostolos Doxiadis is one of Europe’s most interesting writers and thinkers. In addition to being a scholar, Apostolos is author of Uncle Petros and Goldbach’s Conjecture: that rare thing, a novel about mathematics that is completely captivating. Doxiadis is also the author of the smash graphic novel, Logicomix. Following the fortunes of early twentieth century philosophers like Russell and Wittgenstein, it, again, managed to turn a potentially abstruse subject matter into head spinning page turner.

Now with Three Little Pigs Apostolos has tried something completely different. On the face of it this is a classic mafia thriller. Three brothers are cursed with a ‘maledizione’, a mafia curse. They all must die. They are all, unsurprisingly, keen not to. More than that though, the novel is a riveting meditation on chance and the power of narrative voice, on the mythic structure of fairy tales and the question of destiny. It oozes atmosphere and style, but never lets you get comfortable.

It’s a unique book and we can’t wait to publish it.

With Three Little Pigs, Apostolos Doxiadis has put together a real masterpiece. You can preorder it right now. It will be available on the 21st of March.
