Three Little Pigs
March 22, 2016
We are delighted to announce the publication of Three Little Pigs, the brilliant mafia novel from acclaimed writer, Apostolos Doxiadis.
There are many reasons to be excited this. Apostolos is one of Europe’s foremost writers. We first encountered him as, variously, the author of Uncle Petros and Goldbach’s Conjecture and the graphic novel, Logicomix. The latter, for example, is a completely unique world - a riveting comic style adventure that narrates the life of the philosopher, Bertrand Russell. At the epicentre of one of the twentieth centuries most important philosophical movements, Logicomix turns Russell’s life into a gripping journey, at once epic life and extraordinary meditation.
Three Little Pigs does something very different. It’s the story of three brothers in America, the sons of an Italian immigrant. It involves a mafia curse and their strategies to escape from it. Told in an extraordinarily vivid and characterful voice, this is a crime story with a twist; a mafia thriller in the classic mould with an extra dimension that is Doxiadis’ speciality. Once you start reading you will be completely hypnotised by the voice and engrossed by the story… but this isn’t a book that will let you rest. It’s surprising, intelligent, punchy, original and richly atmospheric, essential for any reader of Apostolos Doxiadis but also any crime fan or anyone interested in mafia lore.
We are delighted to be publishing and can’t wait to discuss it with you all!
