Digital publisher Canelo are thrilled to announce the acquisition of World English Language rights for three original novels in a new series by women’s fiction author Daisy James. The Paradise Cookery School trilogy will follow the fortunes of heartbroken Cordon Bleu chef, Millie Harper, who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to supervise the launch of a new chocolate-themed cookery school on the beautiful Caribbean island of St Lucia. The first book in the series, Sunshine & Secrets, will be published in March 2018, with Confetti & Confusion and Mistletoe & Mysteries following later that same year.
Daisy James is the author of six previous novels including The Runaway Bridesmaid and Sunshine After the Rain. Her former novels have been published by HQ.
Louise Cullen, Editorial Director at Canelo, said: ‘Daisy James is a joy of a writer. She has an incredible knack for characterisation and in The Paradise Cookery School novels has created an alluring blend of romance, humour and page-turning storytelling. The St Lucian setting is described in glorious detail, not to mention the amazing depictions of mouth-watering food and drink. Daisy’s fans are going to love this series and Canelo are absolutely delighted to have it on our 2018 list.’
Daisy James said: ‘I’m thrilled to be working with Louise and the fantastic team at Canelo on my next three books and can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Paradise Cookery School.’
Daisy James is a Yorkshire girl transplanted to the north east of England. She loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. When not scribbling away in her summerhouse, she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something pink and fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea – china plates and teacups are a must.
