Crime fiction author Rachel Lynch reaches one million copies milestone

July 19, 2023

Canelo Crime are thrilled to announce that more than one million copies of Rachel Lynch’s novels have now been sold. Since Dark Game was released in 2018, the Cumbrian-raised author has written ten novels in the bestselling DI Kelly Porter series set in the Lake District, with the eleventh novel, Silent Bones, due to be published on 27 July 2023. As well as this, she has penned two books – also on the Canelo Crime imprint – featuring Major Helen Scott in The Rift and The Line

In Autumn 2023, Rachel’s first psychological thriller for Canelo is set to be a major highlight. The Rich will take a voyeuristic look at the dark secrets of a set of wealthy, narcissistic  neighbours and the psychologist many of them are treated by, and whose personal affairs are not so squeaky clean.

Publishing director Louise Cullen said: ‘Working on Rachel’s novels has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life. She continually brings fresh ideas and energy to the DI Kelly Porter series, as well as exploring exciting new directions, and demonstrates a level of commitment and dedication to her writing that I hugely admire. Like many readers, I am a massive fan of Rachel’s books and feel privileged to be her editor. I could not be more pleased to have played a part in helping her achieve this phenomenal number of sales. The entire team at Canelo have contributed to this result, and I thank them for the passion and enthusiasm they bring to all aspects of publishing Rachel’s novels.’

Rachel Lynch said: ‘I’m thrilled at the news my books have passed such a staggering milestone. When I first started the Kelly Porter series, I never imagined this moment. It’s been an incredible journey and I want to thank everybody who bought, and continues to buy, one of my books.’
