If you are interested in becoming a published author, the I Am In Print Novel Award is an unmissable opportunity to gain recognition for your novel and be in with a chance of spending invaluable time with an experienced editor of commercial fiction. Winning or placing in the award will boost your profile as a writer and give you direct access to some first-rate editorial guidance, as well as a cash prize. This could be the perfect way to progress your career as an author.
In addition to the prize, Canelo will deliver a selection of online masterclasses aimed at writers looking for advice and insight to help them on their writing journey. Those who submit an entry to the competition will automatically be granted access to these masterclasses and tickets are also available to those wishing to attend but not submit an entry. More details will be available soon.
I Am In Print is an international writing community aimed at bringing together writers looking for tips, support and opportunities. Co-Founders Elane and Sarah began by offering online broadcasts of author Q&As, before moving on to launch #Agent121, the first online service for writers to receive agent feedback all year round. I Am In Print has since gone on to deliver in-person writing courses and online publishing days, and the first I Am Writing Festival was held in June 2022. The I Am In Print Novel Award is the first award for a full-length work offered by them, and proudly sponsored by Canelo in 2023.
The entry fee is £25 and all entrants must be aged 18 or over. Canelo and I Am In Print are committed to increasing diversity in book publishing. Therefore a number of concessions are available to authors who identify as coming from an under-represented background, or those on a low income. More details can be found on the competition website (link above).
The closing date for the competition is 9th October, and the winner will be announced 30th November during one of the online masterclasses and later named online.
