February 21, 2025

Executive Publisher Louise Cullen has acquired world rights to new works in the bestselling Dinner Lady Detectives cosy crime series by Hannah Hendy from Francesca Riccardi at Kate Nash Literary Agency in a three-book deal.

Taking the bestselling series up to book ten, the novels follow the escapades of Margery and Clementine Butcher-Baker as they solve a series of suspicious deaths that befall the population of their hometown of Dewstow. Hannah Hendy’s series has quickly become a fan favourite and sold in excess of 250,000 copies across formats.

Hannah Hendy lives in a small town in South Wales with her wife, their daughter, and two spoilt cats. A professional chef by trade, she started writing to fill the time between shifts. She now writes cosy crime fulltime.

Louise Cullen says: ‘Hannah’s novels are a beacon of joy and delight on our Canelo Crime list, and consistently offer the perfect balance of intrigue and fun. Margery and Clementine have brought hours of reading pleasure to cosy crime fans around the world and I am incredibly pleased to add to the series with these novels.’

Hannah Hendy says: ‘I’m so thrilled to continue working with Canelo for three more Dinner Lady Detectives stories, knowing that Margery and Clementine are in the best hands possible!’

An Extremely Unlikely Death will be released in April 2025 with A Curiously Convenient Demise to follow in October 2025, both as simultaneous mass market paperback and ebook editions. The new novels will follow from 2026.
